Howdy all, and thanks for checking out our first Summer Newsletter! We’re here to recap June, where we went through a heat wave, a lot of rain, and some awesome gaming here at CTEA Wilton. I wanted to talk about our upcoming tournaments, how we’ve been doing in VHEL, and some of the other fun programs we have going on now as well as those that are on the horizon. It’s a short one this month but there is so much more to come here at CTEA so without a further ado, let’s hop into it.Â
Â
Our VHEL Fortnite Season is two weeks in and so far we have had great performances. We have two teams playing in Division 1 in VHEL, the best division for Fortnite duos, and are mostly playing against high school aged teams. Our CTEA Maroon with Edgy and Hollywood are currently in 19th out of 36 teams, getting an incredible 7th place standing after the first week. Our CTEA Gold with Its_Manatee and ALTO_JACK are holding down 23rd place in the same division and got their first eliminations of the season this previous week. I am also very proud to announce our new team playing in Division 2, CTEA Azure with SweetCountry (Nick, our new player) and Phonic Amoeba dropping an amazing back to back top 10 finish, and is currently holding down 8th out of 34! An incredible start to the season for our rookie and a rude awakening for VHEL Fortnite Division 2. Well done everyone and keep up the good work! Â
I also wanted to talk about the fun time we’ve been having at our Robotics After Camp. We’ve been putting together super cars all built in-house using robotics kits and seeing them fly has been a real treat. Coach Adam has come up with a fun program with some learning on the side, so fun in fact we are definitely going to be expanding our robotics for next summer (and may even have some classes in the fall). If you are interested in signing up for them, you can join the second half of the summer program, held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. If you have any questions just check out our YMCA page at wiltonymca.org/ctea/ or shoot an email over to staff@ctesportsacademy.com .Â
Â
We’ve also had a blast with our first ever CTEA In House Tournament last Friday! Our first tournament winner was Liam Price, a phenomenal driver in all regards who dominated the competition with 7 out of the 12 races coming in first place! A big congratulations to Liam as well as all of the other competitors who came out.
We also have some updates for the In House Tournaments. Seeing as this is our first Summer open CTEA has decided to allow for fully free entry for any and all participants throughout the summer! If you’re interested in some summer fun and have free time on a Friday from 4:00 - 6:30 pm, come on down and prove your mettle against your friends and make some new ones along the way. The Full Schedule is down below so save the date and show Wilton who the best gamer is! Space is limited so show up early to secure a slot in the tournament.
However, that is all for the CTEA June Recap, a light month as we’re locked into enjoying summer gaming and getting ready for the fall. We are so excited for the Fall as we’ll be rolling out a bunch of new things from an updated website to a very cool surprise for our CT Storm Teams… but i’ll have to hold off on spoilers until we start getting them in. I hope you are all having a great summer so far, and here’s to a strong finish for our three CT Storm Fortnite Teams! Till next time, have a great summer everyone.Â
