November 1st Launch Date and necessary Registration Information!

A huge howdy to everyone for this week's CWU, where we get to officially announce our start date for programs! I wanted to spend a good amount of this newsletter discussing how someone would sign up for the programs and letting you know some of the stuff to expect when you do sign up. Also some info on the changed Open House schedule for the upcoming week! I hope you are as excited as I am so let’s jump right into it.
First off, our upcoming start date is November 1st, 2023 and will be running month to month. Pre registration is now open for every single one of our programs, so you can sign up whenever and be prepared for the first CTEA Classes, Clubs, or Teams. For our Y members, you should have an idea of how to sign up for a program but let’s go over the basics from the beginning.
We are partnered with YMCA, so with the helpful links on our programs page under the program you wish to sign up for, you will be taken directly to their registration page. While there, if you have a YMCA account, you can simply hit the register button. If you do not have a Y account you can easily make one by going to the top right and hitting sign up. You do not need to get a Y membership, just scroll to the bottom and select non-member. Before you finish off your account, an important notice; if you are a parent signing up a child you must add a youth member to your account and fill out the requisite information for that child. For example, after adding all of the parent information, I would select Youth for my 9 year old son, and fill out all of their information as well. This does not change the cost for non member accounts. When you have created an account with every member of your family planning to take part in CTEA or the YMCA you can return to CT Esports Academy on the Y programs page (or click the link on our website) to be taken back to the registration page. You can then just hit the register button!
Once you sign up for a program you should receive an email within the next 24 hours with confirmation directly from me, Peter Quinn (peter@ctesportsacademy.com). This email will include a google form which i implore everyone to fill out just so we have a basic understanding of where you or your child is before we begin classes. This is just to help out our coaches give each participant the attention that they need and help along the way. It is also a great way to help track progress so be honest about your skill and understanding of computers!
Let’s discuss billing real quick. The way our structure works, billing for our programs will occur monthly on the first of each month, so right now if you were to sign up for a program, you would be billed on the 1st of November when we start our programs. Billing will occur once a month on the first. Inside of your YMCA account you can enter all the information necessary to pay. The total bill that shows up will be for a yearly payment, even though you will only be billed monthly, however you will be able to cancel or skip a month. If you wish to cancel at any time or skip a month you can contact Michelle Wishna via email at mwishna@riverbrookymca.org. If you have any other questions about registration, billing, and/or cancellation please contact Michelle. For any other questions related to programming, classes, schedules, or anything CTEA related please go to our about section of our website and fill out a feedback form and we should get back to you within 24 hours.
And to end this all off, we have new open house hours for the upcoming week, shifting to 3:00pm - 7:00pm Monday through Friday and Saturday from 11:00am - 4:30pm. Join us in person to check out the new space, meet some new gamers, and play against and with our coaches in our various titles! If a lot of people show up at once we’ll end up running impromptu tournaments, so invite your friends and come during any of those times!
Thus concludes the CWU for Sunday the 22nd of October, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please fill out our feedback form in our about section. That will be all, I hope you all have a great remainder of your weekend and enjoy the Open House Week here at CTEA. Feel free to drop by and play a game or two or many many more. I look forward to seeing you all in person!
